Hello, I’m Harriet. I’m a UKCP and BPA accredited psychotherapist. I trained for 6 years at London Centre for Psychodrama, where I qualified with distinction. My core training is in psychodrama psychotherapy which is an integrative, embodied approach. So, as well as sitting and listening to you, at appropriate moments I might offer other ways to explore your world and create shifts. These include:
- Showing me key life events by placing objects on the floor in a timeline.
- Using a pen and paper to map your family tree and convey how you experience dynamics between various family members.
- Describing some of the roles you hold in life, or roles significant others hold for you, and exploring taking on any of these roles to help gain a new perspective. This technique is called ‘role reversal’ and is gently introduced in sessions, when helpful.
I enjoy working with clients from vastly differing backgrounds. I have experience helping people navigate issues ranging from complex work-place dynamics to integration into UK society as immigrants. As well as my work with individuals and groups in private practice, I also work at HMP Grendon where I help rehabilitate men on the longest sentences.
